Skunkadelic is a larger-than-life sculpture using ordinary milk crates embedded with lights and lighting effects. Conceived for Blink 2024 as a salute to the Art Academy’s unofficial mascot. The form was inspired by voxel-based building techniques prevalent in applications ranging from high tech 3D modelling to physical building toys like Lego, and in video games such as Minecraft. Our intention is to elevate this traditional block-building practice into a fantastic sculpture that celebrates the creativity and imagination and reflects on our world's pre-occupation with digital entertainments and a concern for addictive gaming.
