Perfetti Van Melle is a Dutch-Italian confectionary company with operations in thirty-eight countries. In addition to making Airheads candies, they produce Mentos and other candy and gum products. Airheads was first produced in Erlanger in 1985. Perfetti has owned the Erlanger, Kentucky, facility since 2001.
