Rhinegeist brewed its first batch of beer in 2013. Comprised of an entre-preneurial team of five members with diverse backgrounds, they built their popular brewery on the skeleton of Cincinnati’s rich history of brewing beer. The facility on Elm Street in Over-the-Rhine is the former bottling plant of the Christian Moerlein brewing company. The brewery and taproom have become an Over-the-Rhine destination with facilities including a rooftop bar and rentable event space. Rhinegeist personally distributes their own products in Cincinnati and Columbus, but their acclaimed beers are exported beyond the region.
In this mosaic, from a viewpoint high above the brewery floor, four Rhinegeist employees are visible. Located midway up on the left, Alex Cornelissen operates a forklift. In the upper left corner, Sales Operations Manager Jeff Martin works in the office. From a terminal on the central deck, Brewer Eric Key monitors production, and below, Specialty Beer Manager Bob Oxman transports ingredients.
